About Barbie | Educational Therapist & Special Education Teacher

Barbie brings more than 17 years of experience supporting children from preschool through 8th grade in a variety of educational settings throughout the East Bay. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development from California State University, East Bay before beginning her career in Early Childhood Education.

Driven by her passion for helping students with diverse learning needs, Barbie went on to earn a Master’s degree in Educational Therapy from Holy Names University, where she later also completed her teaching credential in Special Education.

Over the years, Barbie has worked extensively as an Educational Therapist at the Raskob Learning Institute and currently serves as a classroom teacher in the East Bay. Through Read Write Grow, she provides individualized 1:1 academic support for students with a wide range of learning differences, helping children build confidence, strengthen executive functioning skills, and become more independent learners.

Barbie believes every child deserves compassionate, high-quality, and developmentally appropriate support tailored to their unique strengths and challenges. She creates a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where students feel empowered to grow academically, emotionally, and socially.
