Veronica Scruggs
MA, OTR/L
With over 29 years of experience, I am a dedicated pediatric occupational therapist passionate about empowering children through play-based, functional interventions that promote independence, confidence, and success. I’ve worked in both private practice and school-based settings, supporting children with a wide range of needs—always with a focus on collaboration, compassion, and evidence-based care.
My areas of expertise include:
Sensory integration
Fine motor development
Handwriting support
Visual-motor and executive functioning skills
Assistive technology
I believe in a team-based approach, partnering with families, educators, and other professionals to help each child grow and thrive. Every child learns differently, and I tailor my interventions to meet their unique developmental and educational needs.
As highlighted by the Pittsburg Unified School District (PUSD) in their Women of PUSD spotlight:
“Veronica adds value to our educational community by supporting scholars with unique and different learning styles to access their education for increased independence. She helps students that demonstrate challenges with their fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, and executive functioning skills, which impede their ability to access their education. Veronica actively collaborates with teachers to develop ideas and strategies to best support students in their classes.”
Whether your child needs support with motor coordination, sensory processing, classroom participation, or everyday routines, I bring a deep understanding of childhood development and a warm, individualized approach to every session.
